ASSOCIATE IN SCIENCE, (A.S.) AND BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN LIBERAL STUDIES, (B.S.L.), EXCELSIOR COLLEGE ( formerly REGENTS COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK.)

At this time, the joint UNDERGRADUATE program between American Institute for Creative Living (affiliate of IGNATIUS UNIVERSITY) and EXCELSIOR COLLEGE is in place. EXCELSIOR COLLEGE is regionally accredited.

The student may be able to be awarded additionally the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from the Ignatius University. To qualify for the B.A., the student would need to take 15 additional credits in psychology accordingly: Psychology 100: Introduction to Psychology; Psychology 150: Statistics; Psychology 151: Research Methods; one course from: Psychology 152: Physiological Psychology; Psychology 153: Learning; Psychology 154: Sensation and Perception; Psychology 155: Cognition and Memory; and one course from: Psychology 156: Social Psychology; Psychology 157: Theories of Personality; Psychology 158: History of Psychology.

Certain students may be permitted to take some psychology courses on the graduate level which may be applied to the master's program.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ASSOCIATE IN SCIENCE DEGREE IN LIBERAL ARTS, ( A.S. ), EXCELSIOR COLLEGE

The A.S. degree ( 60 credits ) is in place because of an articulated agreement between American Institute for Creative Living and Excelsior College, which is regionally accredited. The degree requires a minimum of 6 credits in one of the following areas and 9 credits in each of two of the following areas: ( 1 ) Mathematics or Natural Science; ( 2 ) Social Sciences; ( 3 ) Humanities. This is a total of 30 credits in the Liberal Arts.
An additional 30 credits in electives in a specific area are also required.
The degree in place is places strong emphasis on psychology and counseling; the specific courses required are detailed under the School of Psychology. Other non-psychology programs are also available.
The program may be arranged so that the requirements for the Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) may be almost half the courses for the A.S.degree.


REQUIREMENTS FOR BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN LIBERAL STUDIES, ( B.S.L. ), EXCELSIOR COLLEGE

The B.S.L. degree (60 credits) is in place because of an articulated agreement between American Institute for Creative Living and Excelsior College. The requirements are basically an additional 60 credits beyond the A.S. degree in the the areas indicated above. However, certain of the courses must be on the upper level division.
The degree places emphasis on counseling, mental health and psychology and the specific courses are under the School of Psychology.
